谢菲尔德大学是英国顶级大学，世界百强名校，位于英国第四大中心城市谢菲尔德市，建校历史可追溯到1828年。谢菲尔德大学是世界著名的教学科研中心，是英国六所最佳研究型大学之一。主校区位于设菲尔德市中心以西约一哩处，该区方圆一哩内的建筑几乎都属于谢大。市中心以东则是圣乔治校区，以圣乔治教堂(现作为演讲礼堂使用)为名。本校区位于玛宾街的中心，在这一带还有谢大负责维护的泰纳玻璃博物馆。在洛德汉区与巴斯里区之间的曼维斯校区，则是护理系主要上课的地方。谢菲尔德大学共有60多个科系和部门，拥有900名高素质的教师队伍。该校的大学本科毕业生57%达到了最高荣誉学位或2：1学位。
