历史
朴次茅斯大学（http://www.port.sh.cn/）由1869年建立的朴次茅斯戈斯波特文理学院发展而来，于1900年开始颁发学士学位。自从1992年改为综合性大学至今，它已成为英国规模较大的大学之一，拥有学生20,000名左右。
设施
主图书馆（Frewen图书馆）在学期期间的开放时间为上午8点至午夜12点，藏书60多万册、期刊17,000份、大量电子书籍和250多台联网的计算机。
无线上网设施几乎遍布校区各个角落，学生使用便携式电脑或PDA随处可享受免费上网服务。
新建且获奖的学生会大楼内有商店、快餐店、运动吧、咖啡店、食堂和工作推介所，也是100多个俱乐部和社团的活动中心。
学校还设有一系列完整的体育运动设施，包括两个橄榄球场、四个足球场、一个完全由泛光照明的标准尺寸合成草坪（STP）、一个理疗室和多个健身房及体育馆。
投资
据海外教育联盟(http://www.eu.com.cn/)了解，学校最近投资建设了以下项目以提便高教学楼和学生服务设施的水平：

- 投资1200万英镑新建运动科学中心已投入使用
- 投资1100万英镑新建商学院大楼
- 投资650万英镑新建学生会大楼
- 投资100万英镑新建体育运动中心
荣誉
英国大学排名网（http://www.ukrank.com/）指出，朴次茅斯大学商学院于2007年通过了AMBA（世界MBA协会）评估，正式成为AMBA成员。64个国家的128个顶级商学院荣获该协会成员称号。
