萨塞克斯大学（http://www.001uk.net/sussex）位于英国南部布莱顿镇附近，于1961年取得皇家特许证，获准成立大学。同年十月，大学录取了第一批学生。校园位于一片绿地之上，它将获奖的现代化建筑与开阔绿野融为一体。构成原始设计核心部分的建筑，基本上由Basil Spence爵士所设计；它们于1993年被政府列为登录入册的受保护建筑。其中的Falmer大楼，是全英仅有的两座教育大楼之一，被誉为具有“独特趣味”的一级建筑。四万多名学生已从本校毕业，他们中间有现任南非总统Thabo Mbeki。《甘地》电影导演、《Brighton Rock》和《侏罗纪公园》的电影影星Attenborough勋爵，是本校的名誉校长。
